Monday, June 28th, 2010The white fabric arrived and I managed to get all of the corner pieces for each block cut. As you can see, I still have a couple of pieces but I’m almost done cutting. I managed to get a few seams sewn tonight. I am absolutely loving this quilt.
I have a giveaway for some Halloween fat quarters going on to celebrate my 100th post. If you are interested, check out my post at http://www.interlockingsquares.com/?p=979 and leave a comment.

Monday, June 21st, 2010Made quite a bit of progress getting the pieces cut for my Tweet Tweet quilt. This is crazy but I always try to square up my charm squares. Most of the time they aren’t quite 5″ square. So I trim them up. I know that sounds silly but I like to make an attempt at my seams matching up. Doesn’t always work but at least it helps. This is the Twist and Shout pattern by Paula Stoddard. Each block is missing a white piece with birds. I still have a few of the side pieces to cut. I ordered some yardage of this from a quilt shop an hour away from here so I could get it quickly. Unfortunately, my package is lost somewhere in the mail. I’m a little frustrated with the post office right now. Oh well, the best laid plans….

Monday, June 14th, 2010I absolutely heart the Tweet Tweet fabrics. Which I know is silly. The kids are all grown and we don’t have any grandkids. But I could not resist. Wendy over at Ivory Springs has got a cute little project with the Tweet Tweet fabrics in the works. She has given a few sneak peeks on her blog but the big reveal has yet to be made.
Yesterday evening I laid out all of the squares from one charm pack to see what all of the fabrics looked like. After studying them, I’ve decided to use them to make a pattern by Paula Stoddard (Pacific Patchwork) called Twist and Shout. This is from her little booklet called Hooked on Charms 2.

Monday, May 31st, 2010First, a moment of thanks on Memorial Day for those that sacrificed their lives for our country and for those that are serving our country now.
I finished my quilt top yesterday so there is not a quilt in progress on my wall. However, I am testing stencil designs for my quilt top. This is my practice piece for the Mariposa Overall Stencil by Urban Elementz. I think it is the perfect fit for my Disappearing 9 Patch made from Moda Make Life fabrics.

Monday, May 24th, 2010I got more accomplished than I thought I might. I managed to get all of the 9 patch blocks put together and then cut into 1/4′s for the disappearing 9 patch blocks. I have 2 of those blocks sewn. I thought I’d finish sewing the blocks and see what I think. I have seen some quilts that use sashing between their blocks. I have white and black fabrics on hand. Or I could try a different solid or maybe a stripe.
